BIOMarilyn Davenport began shooting at age twelve. Later in the 1970's she used the classic Pentax K-1000. Today she embraces both digital, and black and white disciplines today.
She earned a degree with honors in Advertising Art with a special focus in photography. She expanded her knowledge and experice through employment by the photography department at a local college where she ran the studios, Mac digital and wet labs, working with Commerical, Fashion, Architectual and Editoral professionals teaching there. She also served as an Advisory Board Member at the college in 2004/2005. Marilyn continued with additional university level photography courses and keeps current with workshops and lectures.
Among her awards, she received Honorable Mention for her body of work by FOTOFEST co-founder Wendy Watriss in 2005. Marilyn also worked under oneof the FOTOFEST portfolio judges.
Marilyn was recently accepted into FOTOFEST2008, after passing through their stringent new juried requirements.
